In the past weekend the gobelinmusic.com Band had a performance during a try-out concert for the World Music Contest. This time the band was conducted by Siemen Hoekstra. As words are hard to find describing a concert like this, a video registration has been made for everybody who was not able to attend to the concert in real life.

Summertime with: Klinkend Kaseko
|
|
Looking for a nice summer medley? Klinkend Kaseko contains 5 Surinamese dances, composed by Robby Alberga and arranged by Jan Bosveld.
Kaseko is joyfull dance music with different styles, it origins in the traditional Surinamese-Creole kawina music. Kaseko has inherited two elements from kawina: singing according to a call and response pattern and the use of percussion instruments.
The main percussion instrument is the skratsji (a large drum of Suriname origin with a cymbal on top), which provides the basic rhythm. The percussion instruments can be supplemented with western poplular instruments like an electric guitar, a bass guitar and drums (these parts are included in the set).
